Yeah so I haven't a clue where I stand here :o

It plays fine for anywhere from 1 minute to 10 minutes, then it just freezes like it would if the console was overheating (which it isn't) and sometimes it will throw up artifacts when it crashes and other times it won't. Also it lets off a small beep sometimes as well, which I've never heard the 360 do before, it sounds just like the beep from a PC when it's posting (but quieter) So my guess is the graphics chip is on its way out but it refuses to just die already :p

I do have an extended warrenty for 2 years which I bought back in feb/march 2007, but the online form has no section for it and only seems to deal with the RRoD issue.
There is something obviously wrong with it, but do you think they will arrange for a repair even though it hasn't completely died yet?

What a fantastic way to end 2008 :p

Yep. Phone them up and explain you are getting artifacts on the screen and that it's crashing often. If you do have the extended warrenty, they should take it no problems. Nothing wrong with embellishing the truth a little either if necessary, given it is geniunely faulty :).

Thought so, I just needed reassuring :p

Phoning up would usually be the first thing I did, but they shut at 10pm plus its new years eve aswell.

It's working now... I wish it would make its god damn mind up already :p

Although knowing my luck it will be when my warrenty is due to expire.

Not if the graphics chip goes :) Probably just end up buying an Arcade system to replace it anyway, since I have seen some around for £80-£100

Yes if the graphics chip goes :). Mine went on my launch day console. The chip doesn't actually fail at all, it's just the contacts below the GPU break as the motherboard flexes with heating and cooling through use. Same problem with the CPU causes the RRoD.

Oven trick to melt the solder pads, proper thermal compound and x-clamp replacement when putting it back together. Sorted :). My original console now gets baked quite nicely every time it's used, getting hotter than I would ever dare let a standard console get, and it's been working perfect for months.

My XBOX rrod'd and I bricked myself, but I got a warranty from teh shop I actually bought it from so I could take it back and get it replaced ASAP (I hope)

I would've thought that anything that is broken is still covered by warranty. No matter how it's broken as long as it's not your fault D:

Just ignore me, I had a bit too much to drink last night and I tend to go over board when that happens.

Normally I would be like "Oh well, I'll ring up about it in the morning" (after lots of whinging and swearing :p)

But last night I was "OMGWTFBBQ there is no where on the site for my extended warrenty!!!!11111":(

Yeah try quoting parts of that to an Indian call center and see how far you get :p

You won't get anywhere unless you write in. Best thing to do is get an email address for a supervisor/manager at the call centre and then email quoting a link to the official SOGA site. Then make it clear in the email that you are prepared to take it all the way to the small claims court (will never get that far).

You dont need to worry about any of the above, just phone them up and get it replaced using your extended warranty. I've done it many many many many times.

When you phone up they will know you have taken the warranty out.

As Danny has posted you shouldn't have any problems over the phone if you have the extended warranty.

I assume that you have registered the serial at the service site where it should tell your the warranty status.

Even then I wouldn't worry too much neither of my 360's even show up and I can't register either of them. Yet on the phone never have any isssues.
