I'm getting ****** off with the intermittent failing of my console and I'm thinking of trading it in for a new one, but I'd like to know how responsive the touch eject is on the new ones and can you turn the beeps off.

Specifically can you quickly eject twice as with the old shape which doesn't cause the tray opening and only reloads the disc. I could do with the extra USB ports too.

Yes, don't buy pre-owned folks, but that goes without saying when it comes to the 360. I didn't create the problem and I don't see why I should ride it out whilst destroying my experience in online FPS games. Frankly I'm a bit disapointed this Jasper hasn't lasted 2 years.

It doesn't seem like its currently possible, but I noticed some results where unplugging restored the beeps. It's hard to say whether that could be controlled in future dash software. Guide based options are too slow for me as the console is within arms reach whilst playing.

Anyway primarily I want to know if you can double eject without the tray coming out.

Are people *that* impatient? :p

Absolutely it's the logical choice imo. Hardware switch with a fixed response time beats pared down software every time. I can appreciate the reason for it being low resource.

Does it really matter if it beeps when you push a button? It's not like you're doing it particularly often.

That's just it I do use eject a lot for convenience, turn on the console with a double push, dashboard with a double or single push depending on whether I'm going back into that game.

I notice the Halo Reach edition has a separate Halo world sound for power & eject.

Cheers, I'd given up hope of an answer with so many posts about beeps.

This video nearly answered it, but it was triple. I challenge anyone not to find the last 7 seconds annoying :p
