Just thought I'd let you guys know of a good stepping for the 3700 San Diego processor:-

KAB2E 0604FPAW

The CPU is installed in an Asrock Dual SATA board. It boots into windows at 3.01gig at stock voltage and stock cooling, but I am unable to run Prime95 for very long. I currently have it running at 11*250 at stock voltage and it has just completed 24 hrs running Prime95. With more voltage I'm sure it would run stable at 3.0 gig

I didn't get it from OcUK, when I went to the their shop there was a very long queue so I bought it from one of their competitors. I paid £85 incl.

Goody, I bought mine 3 weeks ago from OcUK, does 2.9ghz Prime stable 10+ hours on 1.5volts. I run it at [email protected] for day to day use. Stepping is KAB2E 0549BPAW. Most people seem to be getting 2.7 to 2.8ghz on air from these chips. Can't go wrong at under £100 for what amounts to a FX-57.

Indeed these are excellent chips, i bought a retail one from oc's a few weeks back currently sitting at 2.8ghz @ 1.375v on air, haven't got round to pushing further yet so will keep you guys updated!

hmmmm should I spend £100 on the exact chip I already have in the hopes of getting it to 2.9+Ghz(currently @ 2.6)

Seriously should I???

PS

which divider sets the 166 divider as i'm currently running 1:1, is it 5:6 or something lol?

I'm running mine on an ASRock 939 motherboard, same stepping as yours aswell. Currently at 2.8 on stock voltage :)

£100 for a 200-300 increase? NO!!!!!! Not sure about your divider.

Just set the 5:6 divider on my diamond plus, Which was the 166 divider.

Tried for 2.7Ghz (300x9), It booted into windows fine, but crashed during the first test in 3dmark.

So it looks like 2.6Ghz is the limit for this chip unless you have any tips.

Have you tried moving your ram out of the equation by putting it on a very low divider like 100mhz so we know if it is your ram or cpu that has reached the limit? Then find your maximum cpu speed and run OCCT stress test for 30 minutes if they passes then 8 hours or so of Prime95.

Why the 9x multi??? Drop the fsb and use the stock 11 multi.

Your using the same ram as me by the looks of it. I had to drop my ram to Cas 3.0 and use 2.9 volts to get it running stable on my DFI NF4 SLI-DR. It would not even boot into windows at stock speeds using the 11x multi at 200mhz fsb. Now it is happy at 255x 11 = 2.8ghz. With memory divider 180=11/12.
