Hi 8Pack,

Looking for some help. I bought a used 3770K and Board from the MM (user VaporMatt), he has benched this chip at 5ghz with very low volts (1.250v) and 4.8 at 1.224v IIRC so it's a good one. I have followed a few guides and got it to 4.6 with the following settings. Can you please see what you think of them and how I should go about pushing for 4.7 / 4.8 also I currently have my Samsung green at stock but would like to push them too once the CPU overclock is sorted.

Current Settings:

Testing:

Battlefield 3: Played 2 hours no problems
IBT: 10 loops passed
Prime95: ran for 30min with no issues
Also ran 18 passes of memtest for this memory

Max temp was 72c

4.8Ghz with 1.3v tested fine max temp was 85c though. Also when running IBT CPU-Z was showing the Vcore at 1.320v even though in BIOS it was set to 1.3v.

-EDIT ok so started at 1.3v so far I am down to 1.26 and still going, cpu-z is showing 1.264v-1.274 though when BIOS is currently at 1.260

Ok, so managed to pass IBT with 4.8ghz at 1.200v, I need to play some games to test it out but what do you think of the settings?

Also why does it show 1.216V in CPU-Z when running Prime95?

Yeah very happy with it Matt, cheers. Just BSOD 17min in Prime 95, been playing around 20mins of BF3 no problem so far. Not sure if it's worth upping the Vcore one step and re doing Prime95 or just keep gaming and see what happens.

Have you checked the Event Viewer for WHEA errors or are you not to bothered about them? I'm in the process of overclocking my 3770K but I'll be nowhere near your volts. I need 1.2v for 4.5GHz during P95, and IBT.

Got a few WHEA ID 20 errors while doing Prime 95, I will play around again tonight might have to up the Vcore one or two steps to clear them. As for the chip I bought it knowing it was a good clocker.

Ok, so tried the memory settings you gave they work fine, thanks. Should I try lowering the Dram Voltage?

Also upped the Vcore until the WHEA ID 20 errors stopped.

IBT tested for 10 loops
Prime95 for around an hour with no WHEA errors, the error shown was before I added one more notch of Vcore.
Played hour of BF3

Max temp: 79c (warm ambient temps and fans on medium)

Is my Vcore correct on the BIOS rather then CPU-Z?

Thanks for your help
