Hey 8 Pack,

I managed to pick up a real nice 3770k a couple of months back.

I know it's probably been a while since you last had a play with a 3770k but can you remember how well you got on with memory clocking using this batch?

I'm using 4x4GB 1866Mhz Crucial Ballistix Tracer ram. (9-9-9-27-2T) @ 1.5v

I have a ASUS ROG Gene V which is fine most of the time. Other times I try and boot and the Q Code on the motherboard reads 20 and grinds to a halt. I thought I had fixed this with a boost to VCCIO (1.2v) up from stock but the fault code still shows up intermittently.

I have tried both the XMP profile and keying the timings in manually but it doesn't seem to make much difference. I wondered if I should should up the VCCIO further but it already seems pretty high considering.

Saying that, when using two dimms instead of four I have been able to clock the ram to 2133Mhz 10-10-10-30-1T @ 1.55v. The mobo Q code still shows 20 with only two dimms installed. Again this only happens sometimes and the rest of the time the system boots fine.

Unfortunately the only support ASUS can offer is 'check the cpu socket for damaged pins' unplug everything and clear CMOS.

I have rebuilt the system a couple of times now, could it be that the IMC on the CPU is a bit iffy or maybe I'm missing something else?

Try more volts with the ram at 1866.

Are you sure the timings that are left on auto are setting each the same value (same as the other rams auto setting? i.e are both on 2T etc. That has caught me out before now.
