I apologise if this looks like a stupid question, but I really don't know much about CPU's.

I've currently got my 3770K at 4.5GHz and have done since I bought it almost a year ago with my MSI MPower Z77 board.

I see a lot of people with the 4770K or above, and I'm not too sure if I'm behind.

I'm running the new Radeon R9 290X, will I have any bottleneck problems?

What do you think?

No, stick with what you have. Ive owned both 3770k and now on a 4770k. No real performance rise in games. Only changed as my 3770k was a poor clocker.

3770k - slower than the 4770k.

4770k - faster, but doesn't clock as well

= pretty much exactly the same performance, given the 3770k can clock higher to close the gap.

2+2 = completely pointless sidegrade, get another 290x :D

the 4770k is about 5% more performance than the 3770k. For such a tiny jump I wouldn't worry at all.

Your system (And mine) will be golden for at least 4 years (GPU upgrade might have to happen at some point who knows)
