Hiyahh!!

Just a quick 3800+ x2 overclocking question...

I know ther are lots of posts about this already, but finding a kinda definitive answer is proving hard :(

Just curious to know:

What stable o/c did you get?
What Voltage was required?
What temp do you get full load?
What chip is it (Toledo etc)?
What socket?

Many thanks people :D

Craig!! :)

Where have you got yours?

Basically, mine have been 939

NForce Mobos only. I have

MSI - Neo2 Platinum + Neo4-F
Asus K8N-SLI

Although I have been toying with an Asus MVP XFire board recently thats ok.

Erm, ok, the basics are:-

HTT take to 3x

Volts are very forgiving so just up it a bit... Say to 1.45 perhaps but you probably wont need even that.

AGP force it to 67
PCIE force that to 101

The AGP or PCI Speeds seem to need it on a lot of boards otherwise the Bus gets clocked.

RAM. Depending on what RAM you are using, maybe take that down, perhaps to 133 if you fancy going silly later on

Now just up the CPU a bit.

I have currently got 2 3800 CPUs and they both go to 2.3Ghz with no argueing. On gets to 2.8 eaily and the other has a hang up at 2.3 and needs coaxing a lot to go over... It will go over, but its not easy.

Im on my Conroe box right now, so I will get better BIOS numbers later on if you need them.

chip is a socket 939 toledo and it can do 3.06GHz on 1.55v folding@home stable but it gets too hot so I clock it to 2750 stock (1.35v, 1.33v actual) and that does the job, screenshots upto 3217MHz / 1.7v, reaches 58c full load in this weather.

Thanks for the replys ppl :D

I have mines stable (i think) at 2.7Ghz...

1.4V core, HT x 4, Bus speed 270.1 means effective ram at 225.1 (cpu/12)

Seems to run nice, and just messing on the desktop gives cores of about 39C... when i start doing video (nero) it can reach just shy of 60C? Is that ok... should i invest in a different coller from this Artic cooling 64...? Money is an issue tho... :(

Thanks!

Craig!! :D
