i current have the 3800 x2 amd dual core cpu's im running 1 gig of ram(2x 512 @ 3200) on a dfi nf4 board, it all runs fine but about year ago a m8 of mine gave me his old ram to use in my machine which was faster.

The RAM is Corsair XMS4400 512MB 550mhz 2.5-4-4-8
(CMX512-4400C25PT, XMS4404v1.1 0529063-7)

Basically i little know of ram timings etc, but he basically tighten the ram timings in the bios as the memory wont boot pc up when put in the machine.

By accident i deleted the Memory bank settings and now i cant get this memory to work or get the settings right for it, can anyone out there help please, and if possible with pictures.

I know bit about timings that in bios there are tcl etc, and i know which digit is which, but i still try these settings and it still beeps when it boots up.

Thanks.

I take it it wont go into bios?

If its a lanparty board (Ultra/SLI-D etc) then try running them either both in orange or both in yellow. Iirc the yellow are for tighter timings but the orange are for higher bandwidth. Also try running one stick at a time to help narrow the problem down a little.

Once you are in the bios try raising the voltage on them a little (find the recommended voltage for your sticks first). Hopefully this should do it.

Are you using the new ram and the old ram at the same time ie having 4 ram modules installed?

If it's only the Corsair ram which is TCCD you should be able to run at just about any settings (unless it's been overvolted for a while resulting in one or more of the CAS latency settings not working anymore) so if you want it tight settings then set it to run at 200 with 2-2-2-5 (TCL-TRCD-TRP-TRAS) and have everything else at Auto and set the vdimm voltage to 2.6v. You shouldn't need to run TCCD based ram with any more than around 2.7v in the BIOS and preferably lower ie the 2.6v else it can get damaged.

great motherboard has packed up wont boot, i tried my old dfi nf3 board and psu starts up ok there, wasnt psu, its the mobo thats gone grrr
