3800X2 and Freezer 64Pro

Hi. Got a question for anybody with a 3800X2 with a Freezer Pro64. I was wondering what core voltages (maximum) have been stable using the aforementioned HSF.
 
Hi Tim,

I'm just about to use one of those HSF with an Opteron 170. I'm not sure what the max voltages are that this thing can handle but I think that once you hit 60°C you ain't gonna get any more out the chip!

I've never used more than 1.5v with an AMD multi-core and Air-Cooling.

my amd 4400x2 is at 1.6v (its a unlucky core it cant clock without the high vcore)

and its on air and stable
 
Thanks guys. That gives me some idea. On the Freezer Pro box, i think it suggests that 40C is the max. Not sure about the teminology though! L10@40C - 137'000h. Figured this is 137hrs at a max of 40C.

Can't push things to far as yet anyway, only got PC3200 sticks.
 
Running my X2 3800+ @ 2.6ghz 1.4V with Freezer 64 pro and I'm getting 46C under full load running 2 F@H for 3 days now nonestop. I have a crap case though, with better case you can expect lower temps.
 
Ditto, thats great. Must admit i overlooked getting a new case. Second mobo in mine. Oh well another thing for the wish list!

If you mean in terms of overclocking your CPU, if you run your ram on a 166 divider, you won't be overclocking the RAM that much, if at all anway. Even budget RAM will probably have some degree of overclockability to it however :)
 
Thanks mate :) Got them up to 225mgz with an overclock on the cpu of 2.3. Havn't had time to stress my system though. Taken the overclock back a notch, until i can do the porper tests at the weekend.
 
What temp monitoring prog are you using? If its not coretemp, download that, you may get a shock!

Mine is running 2.6 @ 1.26v Idle temps are 36 & 24, load is 41 & 51
 
Hi Defcon5. Using that :) I'm a bit worried about the Ram really. El Jimben was quite right about the divider. I meant to have some PC4000 by now :( Anyway going to go for a best overclock as poss at the weekend. Kept things modest so far, but not happy with that!!!!! at all.
 
Im running an x2 3800+ @ 2750 , 1.35v but its running at 51c core 1 and 58c core 2 folding@home and thats with an artic cooling 64 but with a bodged on 80mm case fan which isnt very good I dont think. I've ran 1.7v with this heatsink but not for very long and not much load either...max 24.7 ive used with it is 1.55v on a 3500 @ 2.907 gig.

You don't really need PC4000 RAM if you run it on a divider. If you find out the max o/c for your RAM, you can easily work out what divider you need to run it on. You might only run it at 133MHz and although the overclock on your RAM will be minimal, you might get your chip to something like 2.8 GHz on the CPU =P Looks like your RAM might clock well anyway though.

I'm running @ 2.55 Ghz with stock volts atm, RAM @ 213MHz, CPU is 33 and 36 degrees idle atm, rarely goes above 40/41 @ load :) .
 
Thanks mate ;) That helps a lot. Didn't consider a 133 divider. Gonna be fun trying whatever combo :) Thanks to everybody else with their pointers also!!
