whats them two noises? is tahat the sound of the wheels spinning when hes changing gear? and the other sound is the turbo? (sounds a bit OTT)

Turbo and dump valve.

The engine is a few cm behind the camera so it's not surprising it's loud. On a standard car you hear lots of engine noise too.

Based on the 111R so Toyota engined originally.

Maybe Honda/Audi/Duratec conversion, I'm not sure.

I don't think that the Audi engine is available in the S2 and I waiting for confirmation on SELOC. I've also got an inkling that this is infact a VX220 Turbo though I could be proved wrong. I am awaiting confirmation......

Just had another look and I can't see a Lotus badge on *** steering wheel which leads meto believe it's a Vx220 Turbo. I'm sure with stage 3 turbo and nitrons it could go that quickly. Hopefully Muncher will be along shortly to confirm. I could even be Thorneys car?

Yeah, not sure it is an S2. My friends S2 doesn't have any blowers pointing into the car, only ones for clearing the windscreen.

Pretty sure thats forcedfed's elise turbo, you can see the bottom of there logo across the top of the windscreen, and that is an elise dash. Its the toyota 2zz-ge engine, recognised the sound when he revved it up around 8krpm.. that plus turbo :cool:

This thread reckons that the Elise "only" had 280BHP on that video as they were just track testing the car.

Poor quality video, but great stuff, some good driving too, looks like fun.

The only question I'd ask is whether the fact that it was clearly so much faster than anything else there, might take away from the challenge. Would it be more fun to be able to beat Porsche's and the Vettes without 280hp?

Righty then. It is an S2 but it's a Federalised Elise (US market) so they fitted the VX steering wheel as the car had to have an airbag.
