3870 and Vista problem

Hey All.
For some time now I have a problem with vista and I think its my 3870 thats causing it...
every now and then bottom taskbar goes crazy icons on it disapear, open tabs as well, when i drag mouse over it they just change places, when i press Start button i dont see anything on start menu just the border and stuff like this....only thing that helps its to kill explorer process and run it again.
I changed drivers and its the same
Is it GPU ? or smth else?

Have you tried installing different drivers for the card? e.g slightly older ones

i used 8.3 -8.5 all of them...

have you run a virus scan, it doesnt sound like something the gpu would cause

I had something similar. I.E if I opened an explorer windows then minimize it would leave a ghost image. Or if I clicked start the box would come up blank and the driver was always crashing and trying to recover. It was intermittent, sometimes if I finished a game and come out, of if I ran my 3DSimEd. Haven't had the issue after installing 8.7. And sorry to say a complete format.

Im not a fan of reinstaliing system as I always keep it clean and tidy
but a must is a must
so I will try that and keep you lads informed

Slightly off topic but !
I have the same mobo @ cpu as you Bastic, what's your vcc set too? My E8400 fails prime95 with anything over 3.73mhz. I tried upto 1.375vcc but it gets up to 75c according to Real Temp. Games seem to run ok though, but get occasional errors with WinRar. Dunno cauz It'll run 3.73 @ 1.3vcc no problems. If I try 3.74mhz fails..

mine is at 1,4 or 1,41 so its pretty high but temps in stress are around 60's
and I dont have any errors while packing I use my pc to edit photos mostly (files from 200mb upwards ) and i dont have probs with cpu

Thx 4 the info. I'm gonna try another HSF combi I think see if that gets the temps down b4 using 1.4
How r u getting on with your problem ?
