3870 ET:QW crashing constantly

Well, as title. Can get into game but a few seconds after map loads the game crashes. Happens with everything at stock.

Have tried re-installing the catalyst 8.6 drivers, but no luck. Am currently downloading the 8.6 hot fix.

Just wanted to know if anyone else with 3870 was having probs with this game? Or if anyone might have any suggestions...

Am on Vista 64 bit by the way.

Hassles like this on one hand make me want to change cards, but on the other hand they make me appreciate my console and make me want to abandon pc gaming altogether...

I have the Powercolor 3870 and I play ET:QW all the time, with no problem...sorry mate, just wanted to let ya know it's not all 3870's.

No need to apologise Thats just what I wanted to hear. At least I know its either fixable or the card needs to go back.

Which driver you using, by the way?

Gone back to 8.5 Cats and seems to be ok. Did not get to test for very long though as had to leave for work.

Sigh. Would have been perfect excuse to get myself 48XX series card. Though I may still - want to be aple to use my native res with a little bit of AA, which I can't with 3870.
