3870 vs 4850

i used to have a 3870X2 and did a 3DMark test against my mate who had a 4850. they are very similar cards performance wise with the 3870X2 just being a little better but nothing noticeable.

The 4850 also doesn't have the broken AA of the 3000 series either, so will be even faster when thats applied.

I just recently moved from a 3870 to a 1gb 4870 and the difference with AA on is indeed very noticeable - In CoH with 8xAA @ 1920x1200 with everything maxed out I was getting around 45fps average on the 4870 whereas my 3870 only managed about 18fps with those settings!
Crysis also showed similar gains with the 4870 being (in some cases) three times faster in terms of average fps
