3870 vs 4870 size

Not a question you see everyday but I'll ask anyway.

Is the 4870 physically longer than the 3870?

You see I've got a HTPC case and this is a restriction.

Hello there, the 4870 is about a cm longer. Thought they were the same length myself but its just a bit longer, meaning I then could place my 120mm case fan behind in my old Antec Sonatra 3 case.

Looks like I'm good to go so have ordered the 4870 1Gb that OCuk have on offer.

BTW will the 1Gb come in useful for 1920x1080 resolution gaming? Doesn't matter if it won't factor, the 1Gb was only £18 more than the cheapest 512Mb model.

Be fine at that res, even the 512mb would handle it, both handle 1920x1200 fine with lots of AA.
