3870X2 + 3870 in crossfire?

3870X2 + 3870 in crossfire
Anybody got that setup? Whats it like in comparison to 2 3870's in crossfire.
3 gpus vs 2 gpus

:)

I got 3 x 3780 but i do play at 2560x1600 & it gave me enough to Vsync my games at 60fps+little more candy where 2 would not hold it.

I'm sure three cards is the sweet spot. Only in Call of Duty 4 did I see the gains of the fourth card. It's easy to say this looking at reviews but with no hands on experience I can only go on what I've seen.

3870x2 is a cheap upgrade, I like to run rfactor@1920x1400 AA24 AF16 @60hz vsync. Not all tracks and mods will run on those settings in my current crossfire config, so hence the question. Not Overkill just cheaper than 2 4870's...
;)

bit overkill dont ya think

Did you not read my post just above yours?. Reviews showed three cards (3870XT) to be the best as the 4th card doesn't seem to get used as much. Only in CoD4 did you see the benefits of the fourth GPU. There's been a few drivers out since then and it may be better with the fourth card but I've not seen anything to prove otherwise.

i am looking at the same thing am thinking will pro just go for the x2 as u have the extra power if u ever need it that way or wait a month or 2 and see if they get 38xx and 48xx playing nice
