3870X2 on a 24" Mon - Good ?

Hi

Was looking at one of the Samsung SM-245B 24" monitors and I have 1 x 3870X2 . So native display will be 1920x1200 , how will the 3870x2 perform at these resolutions ? I play mainly FPS so COD4, CS: Source etc .

Should I go for a 22" instead for performance?

Any advice would be appreciated.

Well its the fastest card out there and designed for HD.

So yes it will be fine.

you can have the best of both worlds

just switch off scaling in the driver - i should think ATI have this fearture as nvidia does.

so when you play at 1680*1050 on your 24" you will still get around 21.5 inches of screen space. only 0.5 inches less than a 22" - thats of your X2 doesnt like playing games at 1920*1200 that is

The X2 is made for high resolution. It will be fine at 1920x1200.

I just swapped out 2 2900Pros for a 3870X2 which I use on a Dell 24" monitor @ 1920x1200. Both setup's performed extremely well, so you shouldn't experience any issues IMO.

have to admit though, the 2900Pros got me a higher score in 3DMark06
