Yep, that would be the way to go.Get the X2 with the option to get another down the line
Get the X2 with the option to get another down the line
No chance, 3870 CF is cheaper and I have no interest in using 3 or 4 GPU's.

Then why ask the question!![]()
Not terribly clear. I thought it was a case of X2 or CF 3870 too.I thought that was pretty clear in the first post.

i got 18.5k with 3870cf, 20k with 3870x2....

Maybe because I want to know how they compare ? because I can't find any recent reviews that have including 3870CF and want to know how using 16x/4x pcie slots will effect performance, I thought that was pretty clear in the first post.
If you have no interest in the X2 then your only option is CF 3870 so really
the comparison against the X2 is a tad pointless really...
So using a 16x and 4x pcie slots makes no difference then does it?
Not terribly clear. I thought it was a case of X2 or CF 3870 too.
As others have said the X2 is simpler and more compact. Even if you didn't plan to go with 3 or 4 gpu's in the future it would be the better choice.

Agree.
Why bother with two cards when one is just as fast.![]()
Maybe because I can pickup two 3780's for just over £160?

Just over 160?
How much over?
So why not mention this in your OP?![]()
Which is faster and how is 3870CF performance on a motherboard with 16x/4x slots like most intel chipsets?
Can't seem to find any recent reviews for 3870CF.
