Havent really been keeping up with recent gfx cards, but had a lookie thru the OCs website and spotted the card, looks nice but have a few queries and hopefully someone could answer.

1st just how long is the card, at the moment i have a 2900xt and i had a hard time fitting it into my Antec 900 case, think i may have an inch or 2 between the end/front of the card and my hard drives.

2nd just how much of a performance boost would i see if i deceided to buy 1?

3rd Is ATi planning on releasing a newer card soon? dont want to go and buy this if a newer, better 1 is comming out in a couple months time.
 
Newer cards will appear in a few months (4800 series) and shortly after that the 5 series. You can wait forever to 'upgrade' - buy what you can afford now tbh.

I found it a BIG upgrade over my GTS (G92) - if you like things like FSAA etc :) (Which I do)

I tended to find even x2 on the GTS could cripple it, on the 3870x2 if game uses both cores, and its not Crysis (lol) - then FSAA can almost be "free"

what bugged me with the GTS was even in "old" games like Lockon with the GTS it still had problems with x2 FSAA at 1900x1200, but with the 3870x2, I can run it 16xFSAA and 16xAF, and still get smooth, over 50fps frame rates !

It's about as long as an 8800 GTX/Ultra.

You'd see about double the performance in games that support Crossfire.

It seems to give that in pretty much every game but Crysis at the moment.

R700 is suppposedly coming some time this year but as w3bbo said I'd just upgrade now.
