All the releases are out now next substantial GPU will be 2017 and then no one knows what.

1070 would be too little of a performance jump, for the outlay. 1080 is probably the best upgrade path as AMD have nothing out close to it yet.

Wait till 1080ti is out, then buy 1080 but a 390 really should be fine for 1440p unless you want ultra 144hz
