3930K cooling

Untitled-41_zpsa199157d.png

40 mins of AIDA64 stress test. 4 x Scythe 1900rpm fans maxed. IDLE temp is 29/30

Note GCARD fans are at 85% as usual (I am not concerned about noise with my Senns on)

I recently saw a post here that claimed a more than 20c drop in temps (load and idle) on a 3930K @4.5Ghz after switching from a Silver Arrow SB-E to an H100i.

Naturally, I called BS, but I hear a few people say that water (including CLC's) have a significant advantage over air on SB-E chips. That's fine with me, but 20c difference?

What say you gentlemen? Any 3930K owners that have tried high end air vs CLC?
Btw, this isn't about discrediting another poster. I'm genuinely curious to know what the deal is here and whether it's just a case of a bad install or something.

When I get time to, I will swap them around and get screenshots just for you :)

It probably isn't just the H100i alone, don't forget the flow of the aircase of where things are can change things to.

That's a fair bit of hassle. No need to go the trouble on my account :)

I'd be interested in the setup you used with each cooler though. Case, fans/airflow layout etc...
