Guys can I check something with your collective over clocking knowledge?

My i7 3930K system was pre-overclocked. The only settings I can see that have been changed in the bios, the multiplier has been set to 44, and the core voltage has been set to 1.45v. The processor runs at 4.4ghz.

Are those settings OK, the value for the voltage is not too high?

I think that's a bit high

For 4.4ghz if your chips good you could set it to 1.38v or lower

The only way to find out is to change it then bench it and see if its stable.

if its not then up the vcore slightly till it is.

I leave mine at 4.7ghz manually set to 1.4v

You wont damage your machine by lowering the vcore to much it just wont post if that's the case.

You would damage it by putting to much vcore on the chip but 4.4ghz is a mild overclock at best so setting it to auto for that is neither here or there.

Im talking 1.6v or above constantly with poor cooling.

The lower you have the vcore the less heat will be produced also so managing to get 4.4 @ 1.38 is better than 4.4 @ 1.45
