Hi forum.
I would like to learn more about the 3930k voltage deltas.
I know what they are, but I want to pick the brain of other 3930k users and experienced over clockers.
From what I have found, there are two things to keep in mind concerning the voltage deltas, 1. degradation 2. fet drain leading to rapid degradation or instant death.
for reference my rig is:
3930k C2 @4.0g
sabertooth x79 mobo
64gigs gskill z @1600
gtx 680
voltages:
vcore 1.168 load .762 idle
vccsa .868 locked
vtt 1.05
pll 1.51875
vdimm 1.468
i have maintained the -.3v delta of vcore to vccsa and the .6 delta of vccsa to vdimm. My goal is to take the vccsa out of manual mode and allow it to fluctuate with offset mode to take advantage of lower power and thermals.
I want to know if the danger of breeching the deltas only affects higher clocks and more demanding loads.
I have run across some info over on rog forums but it can be a bit vague and deeper research also shows that some knowledge contradicts the others.
for example, one time it is said deltas should be maintained to ward off degradation, and on another thread the statement says that the deltas are really for stability.
i will find and post the my sources in a moment, i have to take care of dinner.
any of you guys out there have experience with this?
Please and thank you for your time and input.
