hey guys
just wanted to sharte what im going to do to my new gigabyte 3D aurora
Basicaly its getting red / orange internal lights / fans

im airbrushing it in my favourite true fire technique,
the oh so obviously photoshopped image was made from a bike tank i painted a while back. and its just to give me an idea of what it will look like
the flames came out a little more orange on the pic than id like, but in real life it will eb a very rich, smooth reed, with deep oranges... just like real fire !... photos REALLY dont do this type of paint justice :(

here it is !

heres a little pic of the original tank, and a helmet too:

**EDIT** heres a pic with a REALLY NAFF idea of the projection customisation of the case

Nobody said it was ugly, but it aint no 110 :p

Looking VERY nice mate, that will look 100x better than stock even if its just the photoshop, very nice prospective mod!

One thing though, are you going to do anything about the blue logo projection thingy, or will it be left at stock?

lol... i started to photoshop the projected image ... but stopped in excitememnt...
it will be an outline of the 8 ball logo you see there ( in that sig tye pic)
only not sure what kind of focius on lines i can get with that 'projector'... is it quite sharp ?
**SEE EDIT IN ORIGINAL POST**

gonna change as many BLUE lights etc to red or orange as possible.
the inside, back and bottom ( yes the bottom ) will be painted in either
big metal flake silver with red candy ( imagine silver glitter covered in RED syrup)

or

pearl / metalic 'night fire red' ( easier option :P )

How on earth will be able to paint flames that look so amazing? What is your technique??

well it takes on average about 30-40 THIN layers of paint !! the base color paint is mixxed really thin as well, solvent based (kinda) so it has less tension than water so its REALLY thin... almost like turps, so it makes making mistakes and splats soo easy lol :(
a lot of back tracking through the idfferent shades of reds and oranges , ususaly from white to yellow, to orange(s) to red, then back through all of that again a few times :P really quite a complex process. but looks very effective.

i painted those flames that you see on the case, i just stole them from a picture of a bike tank i painted and added a bit of perspective and blending on photoshop. seriously though they look 100 times better in Real lfe.

should be ordering it on tuesday, and i have to paint my borothers case before mine but ill sure make a work log of it and post it as soon as its done !!

imdebating weather i should put 'sponsor' logos on or not , intel, asus etc. worried incase it looks too much liek a chavs car though lol :P

io might dub it 'the furnace' that glowing grill reminds me of a furnace, and well... lets not go into how hot my pentium D will be running lol :P

cheers guys

yea ive heard of him !
he does a lot of monochrome work ( like black and white, with a single colour overlay), and he always has a illustrated / cartoonish feel to his coloured work too :)

simply cant wait to get stuck into this case now !
thanks for all the comments guys
