I'm looking at buying a house in Staplecross, Kent. I was hoping to find a map tool that lets me see the elevation at street level of the local area, does anyone know of such a tool?

Cheers.

If all you want is the height above sea level then have a shufti with Google Earth. As you move the cursor around, it shows the height ASL.

is ridewithgps.com anyhelp ?
got plan ride and start sticking a route down and it will show you the elevation like this

bare in mind the hills look bigger on the eleveation chart thing than they actually are.~

you can move your cursor along the eleveation chart and it will tell you the gradient of each part with a corresponding blue dot on the map that moves along your route so you can see exactly where the eleveation changes, you can jump into street view as well although the google camera being so high often makes hills look a lot flatter than they actually are unless you go up them looking backwards, hills that are only 3-5% gradient end up seeming like steep mountains unless there's a proper hill on the route to make the rest look as flat as it actually is

Thanks guys, quick as usual. I've done the ridewith gps and that is useful, Google maps isn't quite what I was looking for alhought Google Earth has come up with a reasonable answer.

Looking for something to do this though.
