3D gaming question

This might seem like a silly question, but if you have a 3D monitor like say this one: http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MO-168-SA
and a 3D compatible game.

My question is does the graphics card matter, as in does it have to have some special feature to play 3D games?

For instance this is the graphics card im looking at:

Would that enable me to play games in 3D?

That 7850 will cope nicely with that 3D monitor. I am not sure how AMD drivers work but ALXAndy will advise you better on that department.

From what ive tried 3d with samsung and amd gpu is quite good

Just to get this straight in my head, can any graphics card play 3D games, obviously providing it has the power to play the game?

I say ALXAndy as he recently was using a 7970 with a 3D monitor and he has some good info.

And yes to 'any' gfx card, so long as it has the grunt. I use 3D also but with nvidia (active glasses with Asus VG278H). This uses nvidia 3D vision 2 (built into the monitor).

Tommy is the best person to ask on this one as that is the monitor he bought.

I know it uses Tridef, but it's active so not the same as mine.

Tommy seems to have his up and running nicely though on 6950 unlocked CF.

I would imagine it's very similar to using passive and Tridef is pretty good for 3d.

So do you guys think I'll have any troubles using this card + monitor? I know a lot of people seem to chose Nvidia for 3D. But the price to spec ratio of this card outperforms similar Nvidia cards.
