3D getting less love?

Was about a year ago I was entertaining the idea of dropping from 2 screens (a Hazro 27" 2560x1440 IPS + LG 27" 3D 1080p TN) to a single screen combining the best of both. Passive 3D though.

I will never get a 2560x1440 3D panel.

I did almost get it in an LG 32 inch tele last year, but there was some incompatibility between TV, receiver and the PS3 for 3D.

It was a lovely screen, even though only 1080p, but the incompatibility prevented me keeping it.

I thought, a year on, there must be more options available now... but there is just the updated model of the "same" LG tele, and the same two monitors there was a year ago - the Asus VG27AH and AOC AOC d2757Ph.

The LG tele now seems way overpriced. I think I'd be less worried about the incompatibility now, as I would just use a workaround I wasn't prepared to a year ago (just being overly fussy at the time), but not forking out £450 for it.

And the monitors... well, I would have preferred the size of the 32...

Maybe I just need to accept, again, that I will have to stick to my two screen setup. But I am surprised there has been not a dot more development in the area.

Or am I just not seeing the options?

There's just nothing coming that ticks all the boxes. I too want 30" minimum with 3dvision2 support and 3d bluray support and not compromise on ghosting/lag/fps gaming/colour reproduction.

I literally have £1000 saved up for the last 2 years plus the sale of my 2008 30" dell on top and none of these companies want it. Dell will do the 32" 4k tv but I don't want a 4K monitor because it's a pain in the butt to drive 4k resolutions and I'm not going to keep shoving more 780s into this money hole pc. and it isn't 3d.

Wait a bit for the nvidia gsync monitors and see if the flagship ones are a good fit for us. I hope so!

Thing with G-sync, I don't want to be tied to a particular GPU manufacturer.

But yeah, monitor development seems so slow.

Like you, I'm not overly keen on 4K, due to power required (and price at mo), and I doubt I would get much out of it over 2560x1440.

I do love the 2560x1440 resolution, and wouldn't really want to go back to single 1080p, but might have to if I want single screen again.

Unless I dropped 3D, which I don't want to.

Yeah, your'e right. There's just nothing out there for us, and I doubt we will ever get it.
