Just got this Setup and not played with any settings yet or overclocking yet....
I dont have much experience with Overclocking but just wondered if this 3D Mark is right for my setup ?

3DMark Score : 14142
SM2.0 Score : 5789
HDR/SM3.0 Score :5852
CPU SCORE 4878

Any advice would be helpfull thanks

Mannaged to get it up to 15457 3DMarks . with ATI set on Optimal performance /

Is that with or without AA and AF? If you disable them as well as the catalyst AI you should get a few more marks.

3dmark06 only really tests your cpu nowadays and is pointless with graphics cards.

I had a similar 3dmark06 score (within 1000) with an 8800GT/8800GTS 512mb g92/4870 and a gtx260 216 until I got my q9650 and had it running at 4.8Ghz and then my 3dmark06 scores went through the roof and by more than any graphics card upgrade but the gain in games were small compared to all the graphics card upgrades.

Even with my overclocked cpu and 5850 I only score about 4000 points more than my gtx260 216 with my old cpu.

So don't worry about your 3dmark06 score, test in games or Vantage if you must.

Yup agree with what greebo says. I clocked mine upto about 4.5ghz and got 16580 points which is around the same as some people get with quads at around 3.8ghz with the same gfx card.

Get clocking that cpu and report back!

p.s. greebo i have no idea how you got that clock out of the cpu with less than 1.4v! V impressed!

cheers guys is Vantage only for Vista or windoes 7 though ?
I dont like them OS's i pefer to stick with XP
Ok my Board (Asus Crosshair III Formula) comes with built in overclocking Programs and one says up it from 3.2 to 3.4 then 3.6. then 3.8!!!

Do you think using these programs can mess it up ... unless you do it correctly from the BIOS ?
