Hi

Just wanted to clarify if you guys download the freeware version of 3d mark 06 or do you pay the $20 for the professional or find it by alternative means...

Anyhow just wanted to clarify....Altho I can imagine what the answer will be.

I think a couple of people that post here bought the full version, but 90% or more use the freedownload. As most of us do these benches as part of a community comparision as well as a personal 'previous rig' comparison, having the ability to change settings isn't all that useful.

Why pay for a few other tests that really you wouldnt use! all the benchmarks on 3dmark 06 are all done ont he default freeware settings anyways ;)

It is tempting just so I don't have to sit through 06's CPU tests :p

I don't get why people keep saying that sort of thing, the CPU tests are part of 3DMark06 and they count towards your score. You can disable them in the Pro version, but then you don't get a score.

Buy the paid version if you want to support Futuremark for some odd reason or if you particularly want to test using special settings or so on, but the free versions are identical as far as most users are concerned.
