Just downloaded 3d mark 06 and got a score of 5235.

My spec is e6600 @ 3.0ghz
x1900xt-x @ 690 and 1700mhz
2gb

Is this about right? And is it considered a good or bad score at the moment?

My super pi is 17s.

Perhaps it could be a little better as i got 5906 yesterday with my e6300 at 2.8 and my gpu at 565/1430

stinka

make sure theres nowt running in the background, i disconnect from the internet dont know if it make a difference

should be around 1.5k more, how many processes have u got running in task manager ?

I ran it again same settings and got 5267.

Breakdown is;

SM2.0 Score 1926
HDR/SM3.0 Score 2138
CPU Score 2659

Now it seems my cpu score is okay....but gpu score seems quite low. Now what could be the cause of this?

My score is 5093... your score is ok mate. Remember now you have a huge bottleneck and the cpu is being let down badly from your x1900at card in games, and scores in 3dmark

What cpu did you have before the e6600?
To be honnest if you had a amd x2 4600+/FX55 or higher, you would have seen a much bigger diff just changing the x1900xt to a 8800 card.

Well my old system (sold it to my housemate) basically AMD 3700 (S754), x800 XT PE and 2gb ram got 2200. So my new rig is much better than that plus I can run BF 2142 in full at 1680x1050 which is all I am worried about atm.

I am probably being really dumb but control panel for what? If you mean cataylst control centre I dont use that, I use ATI tray tools.

its just common sense,, a grapics card can olny be pushed so far and when its reached the maxiumum speed,, no super cpu can push it any further.

Ok do you have everything set to performance, minimal mipmap & textures etc? I don't know it to well, but it makes a difference.

But if you look at Kezmo above with the link to his 3dmark06 his card gets a breakdown of:

SM2.0 Score 2605
HDR/SM3.0 Score 2896

His card isn't oveclocked much more than mine at all.

As posted earlier I get:

SM2.0 Score 1926
HDR/SM3.0 Score 2138

Which to me is a big difference considering the cards aren't clocked that differently.

This is what my xtx scored 700/840, cpu at 3.6Ghz. Yours does look way down, more like 6.3k?

3DMark06 Score 7379

SM 2.0 Score 2742 Marks
SM 3.0 Score 3084 Marks
CPU Score 3192 Marks

Well I re-did the test with the profile max speed on ati tray tools and I got an extra 300 points but still seems a really low score compared to other people.

Now just thinking do other peoples X1900 XTs and XT-Xs appear as x1900 series when u right click desktop and select properties and then settings tab? Or do they appear as x1900 xt or xt-x there?

Plus how do I know if card is definitely switching between 2d/3d speeds?

Have you tried ATiTool, iirc you can see the clocks change. And some just report as 1900 series, mine did.
