Mine idles about 54-55, and underload ive only seen as high as 71, cracking that as my x1800 XT used to idle about 55-56 and hit about 74-76 underload.

lol its true though. dont forget we run these things with masses of fsaa and higher resolutions that '06 doesnt take into account
then surely comparing the scores with actual demanding settings is a more intelligent thing to so instead fo in defaults. ie maybe leave it at 1280x1024 but set everything else as high as possible. i seem to recall my system coming out just over 6k at 1680x1050 with all the bells and whistles turned on.
I personally invested the money that a GTX would have got me with better other equipment. So I reach GTX speeds with a GTS by having a 3.8Ghz CPU, a better mobo and more tweaking.
