3D Mark 2003/5 wont start.....

Got a weird prob with 3D Mark 2005 and 2003 not starting up....I've never ran either of them before on my current rig, but thought I'd do a test to see just how poorly my HD2400 is - before getting a better card

When I click on the icon to run the prog, the splash screen appears...but gets no further!!

I have to ctl+alt+del to exit the program. I've tried disabling my A Virus but it doesn't make a jot of difference....

Any ideas?

Looks like one of those 1920's flick-a-pile-o-frame-cards jobbies at times!

Don't wanna spend much on a replacement tho, as I'm hopeless at PC gaming with the keyboard after gettin used to my son's Xbox handset for gaming control - I'm always dead by the time I've looked down at the keyboard to see where the 'Shoot' or 'Run' key is

I've found some emulator software so that you can plug your Xbox controller into the PC and map the walk-fire-move.......or whatever-you-want-keys into, so it's like playing with your fav console handset.

Seems to work OK on the only PC game I have - Rainbow 6 Vegas - only trouble is, coz the gfx card's so slow - it's un-playable atm

I think I'll go for a Radeon X1950Pro that I can get for about £70 quid off ebay etc; just to see how I get on......if it's OK - I might THEN think of getting a super-dooper one!!!
