Hello everyone,

I have just built a second hand pc based around a Athlon XP 3200 & AGP 6600GT, but when running 3D Mark 2003 it just locks up :(

I have not tried any games yet and am using the latest driver from the nvidia site, does anyone have any ideas?

I'm wondering if its overheating, seems to idle at 61 deg but can't see how hot it gets when running 3D Mark, does anyone know how i could find out?

Thanks,

Michael

use rivatuner to record temps when in game. It makes a nice graph for you. :)

Hello Mate,

I'm afraid that the entire PC locks up so its not possible for me to go back to see temps after the crash :(

Thanks for your help though, does anyone know of a program which displays temps in the top right for example, like fraps does for fps in games?

Thanks,

Michael

Hello wannabedamned,

I have had a look in the bios and the AGP Aperature is set to 128mb which is the same as the memory of the graphics card.

RAM Timings and Volts are all on auto

Graphics card & CPU Both at Stock.

Does anyone know if 61deg Idle is standard for these cards?

I have tried to get an idea of load temp, i ran the first two tests on 3D Mark 2003 ok and then came out of it and peak was 92deg

I have also installed 3D Mark 2005 which also locks up :(

Does anyone have any further ideas?

Edit:

The Following are all disabled in the bios, is this ok?

AGP Fast Write
AGP Master 1 WS Write
AGP Master 1 WS Read
AGP 3.0 Calibration cycle

Thanks,

Michael

You can enable the program to log it to a file, so when it locks it will have saved upto that point. Reboot then go to the rivatuner installation folder and the temperature log file should be there. Open it up and see what the temps did. :)

Hello Mate,

Ah Nice one!

I have taken a screenshot of the setting just before the crash, looks like it was only at 90 :(

Anyone got any ideas as to whats causing this? :(

Beginning to think i may have been sold a dud.

Thanks,

Michael

Definately a cooling problem, Can you check the fan is spinning? Perhaps needs a clean?

I think the load temps should be around the 50's. Definately not 90's.

I was just about to give a go some older drivers but decided to run 3D Mark 2003 again and then the PC just rebooted at random while running 3D Mark 2003 :S, tried it again and it rebooted ... again ...
