3d Mark score (05) Yes another thread..

Right so I got myself a new graphics card a few weeks back for an old AGP system; XFX 7900GS 256Mb. Anyway I did a 3d Mark 05 test (default settings) and thought that my score's were a little low and just wanted to confirm that they are either fine for my aging PC or something perhaps is b0rked.

With the 94.24 XP driver I got 6082 points (higher than older driver versions I used and higher than the 158.22 NGO driver).

My current spec is:

P4 Northwood C 2.8GHz (3.22GHz) - using 230fsb
2Gb PC3200 G.Skill ZX (F1-3200PHU2-2GBZX) using 230fsb with 2.5-3-2-7
XFX 7900GS 256Mb
ASUS P4C800-E
2x Seagate 500Gb 7200.9 (16MB) running in a Raid 1 array.

Are these scores about right?

yeh looks about right i got around 5100-5200 with my 2.4ghz amd 3200+ x800xl and 1gb of ram..

Ah ok thanks. I did try '06 too but I got fed up with the test taking so long - on one test I got like 1 frame every 5-6 seconds lol (the test with the fort with lots of hover robot looking thingy's).

06 seems to be a killer test with regards to how slow it can make your pc run.
My current system is:
amd 64bit dual 4400 (oc to 2.5ghz)
2 gig kingston pc3200
dfi lanparty ultra-d
256mb bfg oc 7600gt
200gb 7200 sata 2 hdd (amongst others!)
I think its time to maybe try 2005, I heard the score scaling etc i totally different to 3dmark01 etc, so Im not getting depressed with it!

Yeah thats normal that as its a CPU test, doesn't use your gfx card at all that.
