Hey guys can anyone help or let me know how come my 3d mark score on fire strike sometimes comes up at 9900 odd and other times it drops to like 9500 odd what is the reason for the diffence in score and does it matter. I have been advised to move my post over here from general discussion Thanks in advance

Depending what GPU your running, the current weather could very well be affecting boost clocks your GPU is attaining, pascal in particular can be sensitive to higher temps. This is of course assuming CPU / RAM and Cache clocks are the same between runs.

What video card do you have? If it's Nvidia it could the boost changing due to thermals.
Also do you have any programs running in the background?

It's only like a 4% drop in a synthetic bench, so as long as your machine is generally running fine in the games you play I probably wouldn't get overly worried about it.

But posting your specs would help, as would posting the links to the results that show the difference. Results would help show if the drop is on GPU or CPU score.

Could just be boost clocks/throttling etc due to the recent heat, different drivers, running straight after reboot with background tasks still running. Any number of things tbh.

If you use Afterburner, you can set a custom fan curve (1:1 temp/fan rpm for example) that will help you get higher scores by keeping temps down. You will want to do this anyway if you're overclocking to help with the extra heat.
