3D Mark Scores?

run 3D Mark on my new 6850, not expecting amazing results but thought it would be quite a bit better than my 9800GTX and HD5770 i had in the past. but the scores are still close. now the 2 previous cards were running on my i7 when i had it, so does the cpu affect the gpu scores much, ie, is my AM3 bottlenecking my card, or is the 6850 not that much better?

do these scores look right given the difference in hardware the cards were installed on?

3Dmark06 is massively CPU dependannt, and Vantage is also very much in favour of i7s.

Your 6850 will be a lot faster than the 9800GTX and a fair bit faster than the 5770, and about 20% slower than CF 5770s. Your AMD ATHLON II X2 250 will bottleneck you card in a few games, noticeably the newer ones with high CPU demands, and console ports which tax the CPU heavily. The graphic scores in vantage look fine imo.

In every day games your PC will be roughly equivalent to your i7 and single 5770 system. Faster in some games and a little slower in others probably. In DX11 titles it will be a decent bit faster.

ok thanks, phenom and 8GB or ram shouldnt be too far away hopefully and that will help. i dont really trust benchmarks too much, but was shocked how close the cards were. havent had time to install any games on it as i have been working since i got the card/mobo. hopfully at the weekend will be able to see how good it is
