Ok.I read this in the futuremark forums.

3d Mark Vantage Based On Alan Wake Engine

3M Mark 2001 was based on Max Payne apparently so it's been done before.

It has a test from it but also the whole engine of vantage is based on it.

A lot of you guys probably all know about this anyway.

Can't remember where I read it in the forums but thought I might get your thought processes going.

Could be just the 'rumour-mill' going overtime.
:D

Yeh, apparently the 3dmark team did use the max fx engine if you read some of the threads on yougamer.

So if its based on the Alan Wake engine, if Alan wake will run good, 3DMark should then?

wouldnt bet on it, 3dmark probably has a lot more nifty things included in it which will rape your gpu a new powersocket :p where as alan wake obviously has to be coded to work better on most systems

Well I've found something that is exclusive with 3d mark vantage and Alan Wake.

They are both dx10 only.

Has there been a game so far that is only exclusively dx10?

Well if it is based on the Alan Wake engine- the difference between that and the game would be they wouldn't have options to turn the effects down. So it would be 'very high' or nothing - also with higher polygon counts and more lighting effects etc.

With the Alan Wake game they would have options for lower spec systems.

If it is based on the Alan Wake engine that is....
