hey all

ive got a problem with 3d mark, ive just build a new machine (i7 920) and want to run the benchmark to see what score i get but it saying i cant because of my monitor resolution, it says i need 1280x1024 but i carnt choose that in my settings i was able to on my old machine but not the new which is connected to the same monitor an lg 26" hdtv, btw my gfx card is bfg gtx285 oc+

ive tried a few different driver but none have worked, one of the drivers give me a few extra screen res but not 1280x1024 any body got any ideas

thanks in advance

I'll put a virtual fiver on that TV only supporting 720p native -IE 1368*768

What's the model number of the screen dude?

sorry for late reply my bros been having a look with no luck, my screen model number is 26lx2r-ze and it use to run on my old ati 1950xt with out problems

i think it could be the driver as when i choose an older one it came up with a few more different screen resolutions, btw iam using windows 7

Found the manual

Basically the monitor doesn't support 1280x1024 as a display mode, so the GPU won't attempt to drive it - did you use it previously? Same version of Vantage? Were you using 1280x1024 on the old card? Sure?

How are you connecting it? Was the old one connected using component, VGA or HDMI? Did the old GPU even support HDMI or was it a VGA connection you used?

Some tellies will let you over-draw the res and they will downsample it to fit the screen, but the image quality will be horrid - or you used to be able to at least - but a digital connection [HDMI or DVI] won't let you do that as it can interrogate the monitors supported display modes and lock you to those, if I recall correctly.

thanks for that, my bro thinks the same too, but iam sure i was able to play games in 1280x1024, when i said my old gfx card could 1280x1024 it didnt mean in 3d mark i mean when i was playing games...

looks like i will get a new monitor then, is it worth it buying one say for res upto 1900x1200 will there be major difference or should i save £££ can stick with my tv at 1368x768

thanks for the help guys
