Out of all the 3dmark versions which is better at benchmarking mainly the graphics card ?

Im selling a friend a graphics card so i want to run 3dmark on his machine with his old card and the one im selling him to show him just how much better the newer card will be, 9700pro v nv5200

3DMk03 or '05.
Don't use '06, or he might ask why the 9700Pro can't run the SM3.0 tests. (I presume you're selling the 9700Pro to replace his 5200?)

Yeah im selling the 9700pro , some one mentioned that 05 was possibly better than 03 for what im doing , would that be correct ? or does it not really matter which i use ?

Even 2001 SE would show a big improvement, despite CPU bias at higher scores. It'll destroy the 5200 in (graphics biased) 03 and 05, no competition whatsoever.

Quite true , we know that but he doesnt know much about hardware so i want to show him in real terms by using 3dmark what an improvement it will be :)

Yeah, any game/benchmark should do.
Why not just let him play his favourite game on the Pro, with 4xAA, 8xAF and a higher resolution? (with Fraps running). The difference between those cards is huge, so he'll definitely notice it.
