3D Monitor/Keyboard query

You're probably going to think I'm a bit dumb but...

Just brought an ACER 3D display, which works fine in playing my existing games in 3D, but now everything round the monitor appears dark when I'm in 3D mode because of the active shutter system on the 3D glasses. So now....

erm......

....I can barely see my keyboard.

Any (sensible) suggestions?

Yeah I have this problem too but it doesn't bother me too much. I find having a dim lamp on in the room (but behind the screen) alleviates the problem.

A backlit keyboard would probably be a good idea too
