You can't get 3D IPS screens to my knowledge so you will have to pick which one is more important.

Nope LG do IPS TV monitors. No reason why IPS can't be 3D... happens in televisions.

You can get passive 3D monitors that use IPS panels. Some of the better ones I've seen include the ASUS VG23AH, ASUS VG27AH and the Philips 278G4DHSD which I'm currently reviewing. The main drawback of passive 3D is the distance you need to be back from the screen for a comfortable and believable 3D effect. Anything closer than about 90cm on a 23" and 1.5m on a 27" is a no-go.

I actually find that this distance isn't a problem for movies, as long as you aren't restricted by room size. 2D-3D conversion on LG's FPR tech is actually quite decent as well. I am not really a big fan of gaming (however light) on 3D screens, certainly not passive ones.
