so im looking into 3d monitors, and believe only some work with Nvidia 3D vision.

As I'm AMD not Nvidia, which screens won't work for me?

Thanks!

Basically the monitors which are advertised as "Nvidia 3D vision ready" (or similar) won't work with your AMD graphics card in 3D. Also, monitors that don't have associated glasses won't work with the AMD 3D system.

At the moment the best 3D monitors for use with an AMD graphics card are the Samsung 3D models.

do all S27A950D2 monitors come with the 3d glassess / are they all 3d compatible.

Additionally there are some different model names which do not begin with S - i think these are targetted as a TV more so than a monitor - are there any major differences?

I believe all the Samsung 3D monitors come with glasses. So unless they are some special version then yes - it will come with a pair in the box.

There is a model that looks very much like the S27A950D called the T27A950 - but this is really a TV and doesn't have any DVI or displayport connections. This means that you won't be able to use full-bandwidth 3D with your AMD graphics card and have to settle for 3D over HDMI (which isn't as good quality due to restricted bandwidth).

PS: Surveyor - congrats on getting underboss :) Did that happen recently?

Hi there, I guess you're looking at 27' models, but I bought a Samsung S23A700D from OC last week, the 3D works with AMD cards comes with glasses and is awesome. The only downer is... only one pair glasses, also 120hz too and best price was here....plus VAT back too if price comes in to your criteria... and a zero dead pixel policy...
