3D Pairing?

Hey guys,

I bought this system from OC n it was delivered 4 days ago..

Ive finally set up the Nvidia surround for my GTX 680 and then turned all 3 Samsung S23A700D monitors on 3D enabled and i've paired the glasses that come with it to the monitor

Thing is, my middle and right monitor both working fine in 3D but the left monitor is still blurry asif it hasnt been paired?

When pairing the glasses though you can only pair it with one monitor though, so if i pair the glasses with my left monitor that becomes fine in 3D and the middle and right go blurry?

Why cant i get all three working fine? Anyone else had this problem?

Thanks :)

Oh but strangely enough every once in a while i catch the left monitor off-guard and it working fine in 3D and then i look again in like a minute and its blurry again?

Had this problem for months mate no fix that I've found I'm afraid.

I had a whole thread of problems with these monitors and so did a few others if I recall.

It seems its a problem with these monitors and they really shouldn't be sold as a 3D eyefinity setup.

However games will sometimes boot with all 3 in 3D

But will eventually loose sync when a cut-scene or something similar happens in game.

It's annoying but I've gotten used to it.

Oh dear, shall i ask to return my left monitor in hope that i get one that stays sync'd?

I don't think it's anything wrong with the monitor really.

I use an ATI 7950 which should be more compatible than NVIDA but still suffer with problems.

I was in touch with Tridef and they managed to help me get teh 3D enabled across all 3 using Above-Below method.
When I asked them about the syncing/pairing problems they had the same issues and replied

"That's definitely the same sync issues we've encountered with our eyefinity setup.
It works perfectly fine with two monitors but as soon as a third display is added, this display is out of sync.
According to AMD all 3 displays must be connected via DisplayPort to ensure spot on syncing."

If that last line is true then ATI are a joke as there is about 1 or 2 cards with more than 2 Display Ports so it's either get one of them or go Crossfire for more ports. This then requires purchasing a £75 Startech adapter of which I've already purchased 2 after being told they would fix it :(

As I say they work great as Eyefinity but I did hope for a flawless 3D experience as well. I've gotten used to one monitor constantly dropping out now though and it doesn't really impact the gaming experience too much (as long as it isn't the center one), but still I spent quite a bit and would hope for something that does what I paid for!

Not sure why you spent £75 on a Display port adapter? you can get them for about £20 IIRC?

Also Display port supports more than one monitor at a time I believe one DP supports 4 monitors?

EDIT: Google this: SP123DP2DVI, Triple monitor connector with 1 display-port & 1 USB for power I expect. (just an example, Im sure there are more out there :) )

Doesn't work like that. With a xfire setup you can only hook screens up to one videocard.

Thanks but I bought one of the £20 ones it didn't help the 3D and can't display at 120Hz
You need these

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GX-000-SR&groupid=1929&catid=1757&subcat=

to run these monitors at 120Hz which is great and works but they still didn't help with my 3D problem and came with a new DisplayPort Error problems

Cheers I was told that 2 would work if it doesn't then these monitors are even more redundant as a 3D eyefinity option.

Nope when you put a card in crossfire you can only use the first cards ports,

That is why you need a TRIPLE HEAD Display port to DVI adapter,

Google this: SP123DP2DVI

It should show you Startech's triple head display port adapter, appropriately priced if the single dvi one is £75.

I Don't know if anyone has one or not? but might be worth trying as all the monitors will be powered from the one display port hopefully providing full 120HZ 3D.

Other than that I don't know

Something like that would probably work but one that could go to 120Hz and 5760x1080 I'm not sure but I think that one may only go to 60Hz and 3840 x 1024. I'll have a look around thanks.

Problem is as these monitors have no DP out port I'll will still have to buy one more of them above £75 Startech adapters to connect the DVI-D from the monitor to either the mini-DP of my card or one of them triple head ones.

For the price I'd have to spend again on more adapters I may just hold out and get one of these cards as it has 4 mini-DP ports.

But still, I'd need one more of the £75 adapters for my third monitor

I was going to get one when they were on a deal last week but thought against it.

As much as I moan it really isn't much of a problem when in game and the left monitor drops out of 3D. Its only annoying in some titles but most of the time its fine and hardly noticeable. These really are great monitors other than the needed adapters and this 3D syncing issue.

The main thing that put me off getting that card is I only really play BF3 now and there is literally no games on the horizon that I'm looking forward too. Colonial Marines is the only one I can think of and who knows when thats out!

I'll look into them triple head ones again though
Thanks

No problemo Machine :),

Seems weird how they provide these products but then there are various loopholes in order to get it to work,

Hopefully someone who has more info could shed some light on this?,

I'm definitely looking for a DP adapter but would like a triple head one rather than a single one. But at triple figures I don't think so :(
