Alright guys,

Thought i would play Call of Duty on split screen and set the TV to SBS 3D and depending which eye you close you can play on the whole screen with your side. (so player 1 can see their side on the whole screen and player 2 can see their side on the whole screen, on the same tv)

My question is now...

How could i set this up so we dont have to close one eye? Is this even possible? Be pretty cool if so.

Obviously could just put a piece of cardboard over 1 side of the glasses but then you are still only playing with one eye. Need to get each set of glasses to work at the same time. Can i do this?

Active glasses of course. The TV is a 2012 LG Model.

Thanks

Hmm... If they were passive glasses you could have ripped out the lenses and reassembled them from:

Pair 1: (V) (H)
Pair 2: (V) (H)

to

Pair 1: (V) (V)
Pair 2: (H) (H)

Where (V) is the vertically polarised lens and (H) is the horizontally polarised lens.

It's not possible in the same way with active shutter. Same principal as I posted above, but would have to be done electrically, not optically.

You would have to somehow electrically modify the timings so that the right eye of one pair matches the left eye of the same pair, and the left eye of the other pair matches the right eye of that pair.

you have to buy the correct glasses for this type of thing and can be found on ebay. or there are people out there that make their own, probably youtube vids out there showing how to do it.

but in any other situation these glasses are pointless, so you have to weigh up whther the cost of glasses is worth it?

if you spend a lot of time playing split screen then yes, if you do it once in a blue moon then probably not.

Yeah the glasses cost me £105 for 3 pair so no way i am 'tweaking' them.

Saying that, none of us ever watch 3D stuff as it just hurts are eyes lol. Just thought it was pretty cool and something that could come in handy once in a blue moon.

What LG model is it !! the passive 3D tellies just need some Dual play specs, or swapping of lenses in the free pairs, Not sure you can do it with the active 3D plasmas .

the samsung active glasses cost £15 and if you have a new tv 2011 onwards model all the big companies joined together to make a standard so they work across different brands.

i know because both the different glasses i have for my 2011 Samsung D8000 work with my panasonic 2012 GT50B

so you can buy glasses for £15 and mod them

thats a guide on how to mod the £15 glasses, personally i would try and buy an already modded pair from someone on avforums or ebay if possible
