Not sure if this is in the right forum or not, might get better response in general hardware or even the graphics card section but,
How much does 3Ds Max depend on my graphics card, is it only for what i see on screen and obviously not the when it is rendering?
As recently i have opened a few 3ds max files and when i try to move around the object it stalls and stutters, pretty sure it didnt do this on my old 4000+ system but not sure if i ever opened this high polygon 3dsmax files.
System has 1gb ram and i am going to upgrade to 2gb, but is my 6800GT PCIe not good enough for high polygon models, or will the 2gb ram sort it out?
Just asking as i am going to be modeling a pc and monitor, all the insides of the pc in detail and animating, so i cant be doing with my 3dsmax stuttering when i try to move around the world.
