hey guys, so im debating a new monitor. but as my gaming rig is in my bedroom, i need a tv function with it too. so obviously a 3d tv is my best bet, what can people recommend for it to be a 3d monitor too?

size must be under 32" as it needs to go on my desk... sub 27" tbh. got about 300 to spend. thanks!

i have a 40inch 3DTV. The issue you will have is that by using HDMI 1.4 the TV locks the frame rate to 24FPS (24 hz) at 1080P res.....you have to run it in 720P (60hz) to get decent framerates for gaming.

3D monitors don't have this issue over DVI, so a monitor and a TV card might be a better bet for you. This would essentially make the rig into a skyplus box as well as a 3D gaming rig.

What GPU are you running out of interest?

im running (as of tomorrow morning) a Gigabyte HD5770. what 3d monitor would you recommend then? id get a tv card if i could watch 3d stuff on it too. thanks!

Hi there,

I would recommend you have a look at the samsung s23a700d monitor. this monitor has a dual-link dvi input - so with your hd 5770 and tridef drivers you should be able to run stuff in 3d and not be limited by hdmi bandwidth.

this monitor has a hdmi port, and according to this page it is 1.4 type and works with 3D HDMI devices.
