I recall ATI saying something about developing their own answer to Nvidia's 3D Vision system, but I can't find any details on it. Anyone have any further information?

Can't remember the thread it was in but IIRC it's a third party solution (not being developed by ATi) that will be supported by their cards..assuming it's ever released.

Essentially (again IIRC) it's another part of ATi's policy of supporting generic hard/software, that can be used by more than one party, as opposed to NVidia's policy of developing in-house solutions which are then restricted to use only with their own graphics cards..

Hmmm, the problem there lies with stuff like game compatibility and driver support. It'd be nice if ATI did a branded package like Nvidia have for 3D, or at least some "Certified for ATI 3D" badge.

I'll wait. :)

Not interested in 3D vision myself, although NV lead the way in this area with ATI still working on it.

ATI will be using the iZ3D drivers though, which are reckonned to be better than the 3D Vision drivers (I have 3D Vision myself).

Thats because ATi focus more on putting out good products instead of faffing around with 3d vision!
