3d vision help

Can someone please help? I just got nvidia 3d vision kit, Benq 120hz monitor and gtx 580. The problem i'm having is with the 3d vision, I keep getting the message "Warning attempt to run stereoscopic 3d in a non-stereo display mode, please change to an acceptable mode. See documentation for acceptable stereoscopic 3d modes"

I can't find any documentation to sugest how I should do this. Tearing my hair out now.

Have you changed your refresh rate to 120 Hz?

120HZ YES. have googled it but not having any joy there.

I have been getting this message whilst using the newest drivers. The problem for me is caused by using dual screen. Turn off the second screen and the message stops and all works how it should.
