3D Vision Question...

I tried 3D Vision discover, with the red and blue glasses, and had to almost turn every graphical enhancement in games down to nothingness to enable a reasonable FPS.

Is the case the same with normal 3D Vision, with the official glasses?

I'm asking the question because I'm not sure whether to upgrade monitor or graphics card 1st.

Card is 9800GX2, overclocked to 725MHz

AFAIK it has to draw everything twice so it halves your fps straight off the bat. If I was going 3D I would also go sli for sure. Twin 460/470's should do the trick.

Needing SLI really isnt making 3D for the mass market, shame really would love to see the tech take off

I ran 3d vision on a single gtx480 ok but upgraded to sli to get the best fps and keep all the eye candy on
