Juat tried 3dm06 again in XP to see what the differnce in score was to Vista.

Whenever i try to run it it resets my PC when the splash screen comes up. Ive tried reinstlling the drivers, new drivers, and reinstalling 3dm06. Still causes my PC to reboot. Its fine in vista tho

3dm05 and 01se are fine in XP as well

Any ideas?

get somthing log the temps.... maybe its getting high... it is a lot more strenuas on a card than previous 3dmarks

Since it crashes at the splash screen, it's probably not a temp or driver issue (still in 2D mode).

On startup, 3DMk06 does a complete system check of ALL the PC hardware, so it could be anything causing the crash. You could try removing the sound card and any external/USB devices, and then see if it works.

According to Nvidia temp monitor in the drivers it was 46C when it reset.

Just booted back into Vista and it works fine

Looks like an XP reinstall coming up

Disable automatic restart on system failure through Control Panel > System > Advanced. Then you'll (hopefully) get a blue screen instead of a reboot, so you can see which driver is causing the problem.

Ah ha, why didnt i think of that. The driver it identified was USBSTOR.SYS

Funnily enough ive had an external DVDRW drive since i last ran 3dm06, unplugging it now
