just ran 3dmark 06 & at the first CPU test with the red planet/space station ?
it ran at 0 fps & just stuttered one frame at a time & then aborted the test.
Its AMD64 4000+ , any ideas ? It did a similar thing on 05 test last year also.

7800GT, 2 gig memory

Leave it to run, i doubt any cpu gets more than 1fps :)

EDIT : Did you abort it or did it crash? Are you running overclocked?

it aborted itself, do you mean it runs that bad for everybody? surely not

I am not overclocked either

My CPU test has never produced more then a few frames a second. I think its normal. As for aborting the test you may be overheating or something. Try something like SuperPi to test your CPU stability if you are worried about it.

Its the cpu only that is running those particular test and yes you would need a pretty powerful pc to get 1 fps, no idea why yours aborted part way through though if your system is stock speeds.

It aborted itself,
however I ran it again & it survived but the score is only 3747
for the 3 tests,

sm2 1705

hdr 1670

cpu 917

Yeah, this test is taxing to say the least,my 4000+ is one of the recent KAB1E steppings that clock well, currently running it @3.24 but it's still not enough to produce any more than 1fps in this test.

I'm pretty sure dual core processors fair better in this test.
